Iranian Backs Down on Ground Zero Visit

Submitted by Mark, Sep 20, 2007 17:17

I visited Ground Zero back in March. I was in tears reading the children's paintings and letters to their murdered parents. Why wouldn't we want anyone who wants to see this, to hopefully be affected by it? To bring home that the terrorism harmed thousands of innocent children? It could, theoretically, change the way Mr Ahmadinejad sees us, and the way he goes forward with his diplomacy with the US. Last I checked, he wasn't involved with 9/11, and frankly neither was Iraq. Why shouldn't they be allowed to see the very human effects of terrorism? Because he happens to share the same religion as the group alleged to have performed this horrible act?
