I could not agree with your editorial more.

PS: Ohio in 2004 enacted "shall issue" right to carry, I read a story where 1 of the citizens who is the oldest to get a permit to carry concealed is 91! Good for him, his reasons simply "i am elderly and the criminals look at me like an easy target".

NY and NJ need to pass "shall issue" vs. the current "may issue" which is reserved for politicians and their cronies, I guess like the outlaws they like their victims (taxpayers, particularly elderly property tax payers), un-armed.

Self defense is a civil right.
