Israel Lobby's Pull Pales Next to Evil Saudi Input

Submitted by don adams, Sep 25, 2007 12:56

Sir:

I agree with your statement about "people who do not care for their own are not worthy of concern."" This is precisely how I feel about pro-Israel Americans who seem to care more about the interests of Israel than about the best interests of the United States. So where do pro-Israel Americans fit in your commentary about concern. Surely you do not believe that everything that is in Israel's best interst is similarly in the best interests of the United States??

And your feeble comment about the Saudi lobby. Get serious. Such a comment is only intended to deflect the argument away from the concerns all Americans should have about the power of the Isreli lobby and its influence on all manner of elected officials, and thus the conduct of American political and military policy.

There are some of us, sir, that like to think we are well read and well traveled in the Middle East and Africa and thus are capable of making up our own minds, which includes listening to well structured reporting, which certainly does not describe your effort which totally fails to address any of the well documented arguments of the two professors.

I am a conservative, and a Christian, with many Jewish friends, who appear more thoughtful about the realities of the current Middle East situation although they surely have concerns about Jewish issues, but I might say, also have concerns about whether the current Israeli government and the pro-Israel lobby are truly acting in the long term best interests of Israel.

So if you equate criticism of Israel with anti-Semitism, so be it as you would be in step with many of the defenders of Israel, "my Istrael, right or wrong".

Regards,

Don Adams
