Iraq War Has Been Good for U.S., Polish President Declares

Submitted by Anthony Esposito, Sep 26, 2007 01:22

So, the president of Poland says the Iraq War has been good for the US? Of course he would say that because the Iraq War has been so good to Poland. The war has alienated so many of our long-time, serious allies that Poland now gets to play dress-up and pretend that they are in some kind of shoulder-to-shoulder role with the US. Poland has less than 1,000 troops in the area. If it's such a splendid foriegn policy, why doesn't the president send over ten or twenty thousand new troops. The US military can use the help. President Kaczynski offers as proof that Bush's folly has been good for the US by saying Chancellor Merkel of Germany and President Sarkozy of France are more friendly than Shroder and Chirac were, respectively. Of course they are. They are all too aware of how relations between our countries have eroded precisely because of how Bush has handled Iraq and the war on terror. Better to see them try to repair the damage done by Bush than to rely on the self-serving rhetoric of a wannabe world leader.
