Drowning the Bronx

I would be pleased if not only the subways went private, but Metro North as well. We all know how poor the equipment is on the New Haven Line, as the CDOT hasn't purchased a new rail car since 1990.

Here is my solution. Many of us purchase our monthly or other tickets through Mail & Ride. Iam sure that our accounts could be adjusted to account for the folowing: I am fully willing to pay any fare increase, provided that the difference between the increased fare and what I am now paying should be treated as "paid in capital" and we should be issued voting shares in the company. When our shares contributed capital reaches a certain dollar level, we should be able to vote as shareholders for or against current management. The vast majority of Connecticut and New York riders on the New Haven line would just love the opportunity to vote to remove the CDOT and their gross incompetence and sell the organization to an operator that works for a profit and meets our needs! I am sure we would also like to use our vote to oust some of the deadwood that currently run the organization, not unlike voting for a board of directors or trustees.
