From reading your comments, Sir, I believe you and I are very much on the same page. I enjoyed your questioning the correlation between elite schools and the intellectual capacities of their respective students.
However, the volunteer military is what it is, and citizens are not required to serve. Therefore service is a calling in today's military, and it is not for everyone. Military service is not a prerequisite for political office, and neither is wisdom and character for that matter. The neo-Patriot who has not served is an unfortunate phenominon. As you put it so well, talking the talk is not walking the walk. As for Kerry, a man who walked the walk, I expected more from him and his rhetoric than his poorly chosen sound-byte.
As for daring to be wise, I'm sure that was not directed at any comment in my previous response, but I appreciate the your stance.
