Rebellion, of Sorts, Stirring at Stuyvesant High

Some comments: You only talk to seniors. I dislike your kicker as well, you do not properly attribute your quote. Also, Perullo wasn't given the "Kids First" pin at her resignation. A student gave it to her while she was serving as principal, and after teachers asked if the pin was anti-teacher or anti-parent, she stopped wearing it. That's the story that was reported on the website, have you even looked at it? Hiro and Chase are not being anonymous as a bid for attention, as you report, but because they do not want their identies to interfere with the exchange of ideas, and the school's administration has been using intimidation tactics and they encourage the use of pseudonyms. You don't discuss the errossion of student privledges over the course of the past few years, and many of them have little to do with 9/11. The posters comparing Teitel to Voldemort have nothing to do with Stuywatch, in fact Stuywatch discourages them. The after-school planning committee you refer to is actually the SLT, and it's a rather large organization. You should also have fact checked Navarantham's quote, because the administration doesn't revoke lunch priveledges only if you are late to class multiple times, and you miss the four minute window between classes. You don't mention how students are required to pay for the locks on the lockers assigned to them, and that the school profits from it. Stuyvesant has over 3500 students. james
