Dear Editor,

The myth Mr. Ibarhim is trying to create in his ("Israel Lobby's Pull Pales next to Evil Saudi Input" by Youseef Ibrahim, Foreign Pg.7, Sept. 25) demonstrates his limited background regarding the US-Saudi Arabian strategic and enduring relationship. For decades, the US is Saudi Arabia's biggest trading partner with tens of billions worth of business to business and commercial association as Saudi Arabia is one of the largest market for American products globally. Also, American companies are Saudi Arabia's leading joint venture partner with hundreds of American projects worth billions of Dollars investing in Saudi Arabia. Tens of thousands of Americans have lived and worked in Saudi Arabia Since 1993 when the first oil exploration was initiated by major American companies. Hundreds of thousands of Saudis received their higher education and training in the US and assuming leadership positions afterwards in the public and private sectors in Saudi Arabia.

The American and Saudi people and governments continue to share a vision of strategic political, economic, security and energy ties supported by decades of strong bond of friendship as the flow of investment, goods and services on both sides is significant. Hence, such relationship needs professional guidance to help facilitate and expand the mutual cultural understanding in order for such unique relationship to continue prospering.

However, it's infuriating for Muslims to read on major and respected American newspapers negative comments for few expedient and paranoid writers like Mr. Ibrahim who have dedicated their effort to attacking Saudi Arabia in an attempt to drive a wedge in the distinguished US-Saudi relations.
