Lee Bollinger is anything but a coward. I personally enjoyed the talk. Not everyone has a passionate hate for Iran, namely our youth, who have no real history of Iranian tyranny. Sure Iran has been named as a part of axis of evil, but in the memorable lifetime of most 20 year olds, Iran has made no directly agressive or violent movements toward the United States.
Our youth, more than ever, needs to be well-versed in global politics, ESPECIALLY in the Middle East. This talk brought youth to the table, they should be exposed to these things, not sheilded.
We hold freedom of speech in high regard in this country, that means standing up for it even when it is unpopular. I say, let the man speak, even if his actions have been against us in the past, speech can never hurt us. Banning those we hate from speaking in our country shows weakness and fear, in letting them speak, and allowing them to make fools of themselves through their words, we garner an advantage.
