Dollar's Fall Starts To Stir Worry

Submitted by Claude Bogardus, Sep 27, 2007 23:47

Somewhat less than a century ago (1913) the Federal Reserve System was established to "manage" the economy of these United States by rationalizing and controlling the supply of money. This Act, stoked by Envy (of the English and their Bank mOf England) and powered by Pride, accomplished two prized objectives of the "Progressive Tendency" in America. It had now become possible for the United States Government to finance a modern war, and the demise of the Dollar was assured. During President Lincoln's War Wise Men tended to shun the lavishly printed "Greenbacks" thereby refusing to join the less perceptive neighbors in paying the Inflation Tax. The Federal Reserve System removed the Wise Man's alternative, and the problems of inflation were henceforth borne by the Perceptive Citizens as well as the fools and the uneducated Citizens. When President Roosevelt replaced Currency (coins of precious metals) with Tokens (Federal Reserve Bank Notes) the Dollar' had been set upon the Road To Ruin. People liked the change then, but the status of the Dollar is now a matter of concern. The Federal Reserve System is faced with two choices. If it raises interest rates, then the Dollar retains its value (for a while)., but he Nation falls into a recession, greatly expanding the Federal Budget Deficit, which will, in turn, cause a decline in the Dollar's value. A lowered interest rate is universally considered, at this time and under present circumstances, inflationary and thereby the impetus for a devalued Dollar.

But the Progressive Tendency, with us still, is pleased, for a falling Dollar will assure the election of Senator Hillary Clinton as President o0f these United States. She will NOT enjoy her Regime.

May it please a Benevolent Deity to preserve these United States!
