Lets get honest. IF the FAA had acted like they should have the delays would be much less. Where are all the improvements, technologies perfected over the past 20 years plus that the FAA had every opportunity to introduce to the air traffic control and failed to do so. They only collect monies from our government and from passengers, airlines, and general aviation and failed to apply those funds to improving the ATC centers around the county. Over those years our congress didn't care because they were still being treated at the priviledged few at all alirports, with all airlines and all other ground facilities. Now that they get caught up in the mess their mishandling has created they start screaming about the airlines. I cannot defend the airlines in regard to the extended delays that required that the passengers remain on board the flights with no facilities that match their human needs - but I do remember being on a flight that had one person demand to get off..The airline complied. We then had to sit on the ground for about 3 hours because the passengers luggage had to be deplaned along with the passenger.. Was that another FAA ruling? If not, some organization had to put that rule in place. SO lets all wake up and start putting the blame where it belongs, our government agencies. We have the best ATC men and women in the world and they follow all the rules set up - time sperations, mile seperations, aircraft type restrictions, weather problems and emergencies.
