I loved the first line of your article, "grappling with an issue as old as Sodom and Gomorrah". You'd think an issue that old would have been settled by now. In fact, come to think of it, I think it may have been settled in a rather decisive way. And it was not a rabbi that made the decision. But far be it from this generation to go along with that conclusion. I recall that Abraham had compassion and concern for any honest and upright men still in those cities and that it did not alter the outcome since there were none. Would it be different if Abraham were here today to ask for compassion on those who now argue this issue? I wonder. No, I don't.
