I am a lifelong democrat. I am a supporter of barack Obama. I can support just about any of the candidates on my side except for Hillary.
If the choice was between Huckabee and Hillary, I would have no qualms of voting in favor of Huckabee. I never understood why he has not caught on with your party as he is competent, likable, intelligent and ran a state. He is not a noivce or an unlikable person or divisive. I could see independents and maybe even some democrats like myself vote for the guy. Most of all, what is important to me, is that he seems to be someone who wants to do well, serve the people and the country and heal the wounds we have with the world. he seems a healing spirit.
Many republicans are supporting Barack Obama for the same reason. He is competent, healing, intelligent, likable, has a vision and has ideas on how to address the issues. He is welcoming and not polarizing. He wants to serve the country and the people. this is someone who could have had just about any high powered and million dollar job anywhere for the asking after he was done at Harvard and being the president of the law review. Instead he went back to Chicago to help those in need. service.
Both men have good decent hearts.
I will never give my vote to Hillary. many democrats feel that way. If she is the nominee not only would she polarize the nation even more but, polarize her own party. She would be fighting with the progressive wing of the party. she would tear it apart. And the same would happen in the country. We would become more divided than since pre civil war. Nothing will be done as fighting and gottcha would be the mainstays of the day.
How could she get the nomination even with democrats knowing this. Two reasons. The clintons have hijacked the party and have an iron grip on it. The other is that the establishment wants her and is in with her. It doesn't matter what we want. Our own polls have been hijacked and no one knows the real numbers. The clintons put their people in all the key spots after Bill was over in 2000 just for when Hillary would run.
