What an interesting review! Knowing what happened during World War II makes it hard to believe that we would ever see a Poland that is not anti-semitic. This enlightening piece highlights not only the painful facts but also-- and more importantly-- some amazing conclusions. The next chapter in Polish Jewish relations is unfolding and most people don't know it. Jewish life and especially positive Christian-Jewish relations are vibrant in large part because of the dialogue inspired by Mr.Gross. Democracy has created the pre-conditions for the societal introspection that precedes and enables prosperity. Thanks for this excellent review.
