Doubts Emerge on China's Support for Iran Sanctions

Suspicions and guilt are never the same.If that is the case, how can you punish someone on the basis of suspicions? The Iranians are enriching Uranium under the platform of the NPT which gives member states the exclusive right to pursue nuclear technology.

If the Bush administration feels that the Iranians are pursuing nuclear bombs, then they should prove their case.In the court of law, suspicions without any substancial evidence is baseless and such cases are thrown out of the courtrooms.

The question we need to ask ourselves is, Resolutions and Treaties which has a more legal foundation in international law?Treaties are meant to be obeyed and are more respected in the international arena. If the US and some European nations are keen on putting an end to the nuclear dispute, then they should look out for ways to amend the NPT so that member states that are signatories to the NPT cannot under any circumstance, enrich Uranium or aquire nuclear technology without adequate clearance and guildiance from the UN and IAEA.

I expect the Bush administration to wake up to it's responsibility as the sole superpower this time around by bringing the Iranians to a table talk. The Bush administration has succeeded in putting an end to the nuclear ambitions of some states like Libya, and presently North Korea without even firing a single bullet. They can also do it with the Iranians. This they can achieve by putting pride aside afterall, reconciliation is not weakness.

If the dream of this present American administration is to promote democracy, human rights and freedom in the middle east, then having the Iranians on their side is a huge step towards achieving this goal coupled with a lasting peace and end to strife and insurgency in Iraq.

From what I see, the Iranians are willing to cooperate but not bullied or threatened into giving up their peaceful nuclear ambitions. The idea of using the french with the support of the US and Britain to spearhead the war with the Iranians, will be highly detrimental to American interest in the Middle east.

The phrase, "all options are on the table" should be totally reframed from as it more of signals military option.

I must commend the american administration on the vital and pivotal role it has been playing in ensuring a new world order. An order of peace, democracy, human rights and freedom in the world.
