Greetings: The Mackinac Center is right on the Mich. taxing issues.
This article shows the tragedy of Michigan's elected officials from the Governor on down.
A simple across the board 1 % increase in all state budgets would have sufficed and then
the reforms could take place--without ANY TAX INCREASES. This would have provided
the incentives for everyone to understand that the state's (now so-called) leaders honestly
and sincerely wanted to grow the economy. Observing this Mich. overtaxing fiasco
indicates to me after many years that only the weak-minded, mentally crippled and
easily corrupted people run for and are elected for office--obeying the commands of
the Lansing seemingly corrupt lobbyists and special interests. It is an unhealthy situation--
the Governor never understood it to lead us out of this morass within her first year in office.
As such she is now apparently a "has been" and will migrate upward in politics
under the peter principle...the next higher level of incompetence.
As of this morning at 8:40 am radio station AM 580 Traverse City, Mich.Gov.
Granholm stated that the MACKINAC CENTER STUDIES re Michigan's budget have
been "debunked". spm
