Ron Paul did not blame America for 9/11. He blamed Al Qeada and Osama Bin Laden.

When one is investigating a crime, one often looks to motive. The motive that Ron Paul ascribed to the attackers is a Muslim motive, a Saudi Motive (the majority of the 9/11 attackers were Saudis after all.) Such a motive would not make sense if Ron Paul were blaming Americans or American foreign policy. No American would care enough about how many troops we had in Saudi Arabia, or how many bombs we dropped on Iraq to commit such a heinous act.

Only a Saudi, Islamic, extremist (like Osama bin Laden) would care enough about these issuess to make them into motives to commit such an act. So when Ron Paul said the reason we were attacked on 9/11 was the presence of our troops in Saudi Arabia, and the number of Iraqis killed by our bombs and sanctions, he was laying the blame squarely at the feet of the Islamofascists (to use the popular term)

That Rudy Giuliani, a former prosecutor, doesn't recognize that these motives actually put the blame on Osama bin Laden, either points out his gross incompetence as a prosecutor or proves that he was grandstanding on the issue.

I think it is grossly unfair and idiotic of the Sun to repeat the lie that Ron Paul blamed America.
