The real question is why do we have a Chevy health care system. I think Mr. Stossel is on to something. Our current healthcare system is driven by insurance which controls the delivery of healthcare by controlling costs by limiting reimbursement. If the free market forces are restored by concepts such as HSAs the long term effect will be improvements in the quality of care as consumers once again have a say in the way healthcare is delivered. The "good" doctors will be sought out and the "bad" doctors will be weeded from the system. Now the consumer goes where the insurance carriers tell them. And the carries tell them go where we get the best deal not the best medicine.
