Tired Bullpen Wasn't Mets' Cause of Death

It is not the number of innings...it is who is pitching those innings. A perfect example is the last 4 run lead Mota blew. You had El Duque in the pen, instead of bringing him in and allowing him to pitch 2 or 3 innings, they used mr blow it (Mota) who of course blew it and THEN they brought in El Duque with the pitchers spot coming up in the order. Why let a pitcher with no track record of getting anyone out all year ( look at hit 6.00 era) go in with a must win game on the line. You also bring up the starting pitching and the lack of 200 innng pitchers. Blame the manager who keeps taking them out of the game with a lead. JUST BECAUSE YOU REACH 100 PITCHES IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU MUST COME OUT! By bringing back Willie the Mets have set up 2008 for a bad ending.
