An excellent article. Thank you. And as a non-New Yorker, I would just like to say you are exactly right. I think all of us from various regions of the country have certain traits that annoy people from other regions. As an Okie I KNOW I annoy people from many other places. As I do now by saying, I think the thing that annoys us hicks-in-the-sticks the most about New Yorkers is their fondness of saying "I'M from New York, let me tell you how to do it." Even if you are right, in does not endear you. And it is NOT going to endear the Mayor, even to those who may agree with his gun control beliefs. And here we have multiple layers of offence added on to that. The outsider picking on family. The big millionaire picking on the little guy. The use of political power to get away with BUYING guns illegally, while prosecuting the seller for the same transaction. That blatant violation of equality under the law may be normal amongst the coastal elites, but it doesn't go over well out here in flyover country. We have our own arrogant politicians--we don't need New York's.
