Better, Stronger, More Attractive

We sit down to watch TV at the end of the day to go to fantaswy land for a few hours. There are dirty dishes in the sink, dust bunnies under the sofa, and if you live with a dog, a layer of hair over the floor that we just can't deal with. But the boob tube offers us a view of what life looks like on the West Coast. After all, isn't that where Pam Anderson is your local life-guard, the sun always shines - at least for 3 hours more - and everyone drives a Mercedes down the mansion lined street. I remember being a kid and wondering why I didn't live in the house that 'My Three Sons' occupied. Fred MacMurray wasn't any smarter than my Dad and hey...why not? This has been going on for years. I'm sure girls/women strained for hours to get Mary Pickford curls in their hair. Little did they know that 'hair & makeup' tacked them on just before filming. I remember meeting Lilian Gish once. I told her how much I enjoyed her 'Orphans of the Storm' and she sighed and replied, ' Ah, Hollywood. But you know, it's not really there.' Thank you Miss Gish, point taken.
