In response to this article, to the entire visit of President Ahmadinejad, and also to Danny Kidron's response "Welcome the President" the only thing I have to offer is the comment that our world is in the state it's in today largely because of our inability and unwillingness to accept other people and other cultures the way they are and because of our desire as a nation to be the police force of the world showing up where other nations are Terrorist-supporters while doing the same things as a nation here but either not recognizing it, choosing to ignore it, or hoping that if we make ourselves believe our Administration the terrorism the US sponsors will go away or something like that.
I think that the reception President Ahmadinejad received when he came to New York was inconsiderate, intolerant, and mean. He is a person who deserves to be treated fairly, and he is the president of a nation and deserves respect for that. No matter what my opinion of our current President and his Administration may be, they are all individual human beings deserving respect and tolerant treatment when they visit other nations, and we as Americans - we who consider ourselves Leaders in this troubled world - should be the ones who show leaders of other nations the correct and respectful treatment when they come here as our leaders are shown when they travel to other nations.
