How To Win

If Rudy is the guy. I think the evangelical leaders are trying to wake up their constituency to realize that Rudy isn't in line with their values, which cuts at his strategy that he's the only one that can beat Hillary. Without them, they say he can't. And I believe them. The real question is will these leaders throw their support around someone before the primaries or wait? How much weight do they really carry amongst their followers?

If they are dead set against Rudy, then they should throw their weight around Mitt Romney and soon, as he really represents all the issues they want --pro-life, pro marriage amendment, anti cloning, etc. It would also go a long ways to diffusing the "Mormon" issue for Romney (as well as show incredible tolerance in the evangelical community). It doesn't eliminate Romney's "Mormon" issue...but certainly softens it and boosts Romney's electibility factor as well, while undermining Giuliani's strategy as the "most electable."
