While I agree with the vast majority of your analysis, I do think that your last sentence is a bit disingenuous. No other franchise has enjoyed anything remotely close to the same amount of success that the New York Yankees have during Mr. Steinbrenner's tenure as owner. During his three plus decades as owner the team has averaged a World Series appearance once every 3.5 seasons, a Championship approximately once every 6 years and a playoff appearance approximately once every 2 years. To my way of thinking his positives far outweigh his negatives; after all, I neither have to work for him personally nor is it my money being spent.
P.S. My 8 year old son, Seth, says "Hi".
