The World According to Paul Krugman

YOUR QUOTE: He advances his viewpoint not by misstating facts but by omitting those parts of the past that make history messier. He expresses outrage that Democrat Samuel Tilden "essentially had the electoral vote stolen" in 1876, but does not mention that Tilden's Southern victories were achieved through the violent suppression of black votes by Democratic henchmen and the Ku Klux Klan. You are very wrong Sir & Mr. Krugman is correct - Tilden's Electoral votes WERE stolen in the states of Louisiana, Florida and South Carolina. Obviously you do not know your history very well...Tilden actually won the election - Hayes and the Repbulicans went to bed after conceding Tilden's victory...but it was the scheme of a devout Republican newspaper man like yourself from the New York Times that conspired a way to steal the election back. There is so much more - but that is for you to discover in our rich American history... Best to you, Author, Samuel Tilden the Real 19th President
