$50 Billion Health Plan Is Eyed

Let's return health insurance to being real "insurance," instead of an unnecessary 3rd party payer system tied to employment. Every citizen/family should have a deductible based upon income, say $1000/family/year for the poor up to $6-7000/year/family for the wealthy. After that, the insurance kicks in for full coverage. There's a start that avoids socialized medicine, unwanted intrusion by the government, and returns individual responsibility for medical costs to the consumer.
