Bloomberg's Foot

Submitted by Charles Petrik, Dec 9, 2006 07:08

Mayor Bloomberg wants to meddle in activities that occur everywhere else in the U.S., meanwhile he choses to ignore the problems of the city he was elected to run. He needs to solve school problems, gang problems, crime problems, police corruption, and crimes by illegal aliens (who crime statistics released by the GAO show are repeat offenders). The City of New York has many needs, yet Bloomberg only seems to focus on his obsession with guns. Guns are only about 400 years old, and there were plenty of crimes committed in the world before the invention of the gun. Criminals used knives, swords, bows, crossboes, battle axes, poisons, etc.

Even if a miracle occurred, and all guns were to magically vanish, criminals would build more (as a prisoner in a California state prison did, out of plumbing parts and other metal he scounged up).

Everyone claims that our government will protect us, so that there is no need for citizens to own guns. If you go to the library and look at the articles written back in the 70's and 80's, you see that the same problems that we read about today (terrorism, illegal aliens, gang violence, crime) are all printed in those old papers, so this pretty much PROVES that the government is not ever going to actually be able to protect Americans, so we should have a way to protect ourselves.
