Vic fails to mention that Czechoslovakia invaded Poland in 1919 with 15,000 troops, some in non Czech uniforms. After Austro-Hungary fell the local Polish and Czech populations divided the area of Teschen into a part of Poland where there were mostly Poles, and into a part of Czechoslovakia, where there were mostly Czechs. Then when Poland was involved in a life and death struggle with the Soviet Union, the Czechs sent in their troops and annexed the Polish part of Teschen. The Czechs also would not permit arms and supplies to reach Poland which seriously undermined Poland's fighting capacity. Poland eventually won the war. Unfortunately, the bitterness over what occurred in Teschen prevented initial talks of forming an anti-Hitler alliance between Poland and Czechoslovakia from becoming successful. Such an alliance could have been a serious obstacle to Hitler's ambitions and could have avoided a lot of death and destruction. Thankfully, the two countries are friendly now, and have cooperated on many issues.
