Along with these important issues, conservatives must remain at the forefront of the war against Islamic terrorism, and vocally so. Just because there hasn't been another terrorist attack in this country since 9/11, it doesn't mean that the terrorists haven't given up their desire to perpetrate one, and are not constantly looking for ways to get around the anti-terror safeguards we have in place. We are in a war - a war that's going to last a long time, and we can't wish it away. Politicians who do nothing but hope that another terrorist attack won't occur are whistling past the grave yard. If they don't agree with the way President Bush is conducting the war, fine. Let them come up with a better plan. But we ignore it at our peril.
