Having read Mr. Tyrell many years ago, I am happy to have a chance to become re-aquainted with his astute writing. Living oversseas gives me another view of life, politics and the world situation. However, going back to the States this past year has left me in a state of shock. There was no way to have a serious conversation about the world situation, terrorism or Islam without getting into an argument about Bush which was so totally irrational as to preclude any intelligent discussion. So I am not surprised by the learned Professor's answers to the question posed to him. Bush, according to my "intelligent" friends and relatives was the "worst, most undemocratic, lying......" president we have ever had, and posed the greatest danger to the world. Coming from Israel, I left in a state of total shock and dismay and depression. Thanks for your clarification of the situation there. Lillian
