Gates Warns Against War With Tehran
in response to reader comment: Mr. Gates' comments added to the conclusions of the Baker Commission

Submitted by Shalom Freedman, Dec 10, 2006 03:55

I have not read the full transcript of the Gates testimony, so perhaps I am in error here. But it seems to me a number of central questions were not asked him.

1)How far is Iran from delieverable nuclear weapons? 2) Does the U.S. have a reasonable military option against Iran's nuclear weapons program? 3) Would the U.S. support Israel should it engage in a preemptive strike against Iran?

There are many more unanswered questions, including the one of what will happen to Iraq after U.S. withdrawal.
