I really liked the character of Bobby. I liked and cared abou the characters. BUT, had to get passed the opening scene - a sex scene that was not necessary--irritated me. Once you get into the movie (you feel a little cheap even watching the very beginning) it is a good story. Please Holloywodd, leave out the showing of sexual situations. Think of the old Bogart movies--they didn't need the sex scenes. All in all Phoenix does a GREAT job. And sho can go wrong with Duvall. Good casting.
