Here we go again... another inept "Music Critic"... It's a hard to determine whether he knows less about writing ..."But she (Dessay) is a reliably intelligent singer, and a reliably intelligent actress. She knew what she was doing, and why she was doing it. OR music.

Oh, for the great music critics of the past who were masters of effective and often brilliant writing style as well as comprehensive in their commanding understanding of music.

Nordlinger's article is worthy only as an example of how a high school student would review a performance.
