Thank you. I do wish that more editors were as astute about money as you are. As you correctly point out, but I still find very difficult to believe, only one candidate out of the 14+ running in both parties is even talking about the problem of inflation and the Federal Reserve. Runaway inflation will destroy the middle class in America as it has in every country south of our border over the last 100 years. No one but Ron Paul has pointed out the connection between our military spending and our economic survival. Do we really need to spend more on defense than the rest of the world combined times 2? I know, I know for my lifetime (over 50 years) the "chicken littles" have been crying that big government is spending us into collapse and ruin but it still has not happened. Why should we worry now? That sort of collapse can not happen to us because we are the world's reserve currency. Everyone uses dollars. In case you have not noticed, many countries are now demanding payment for oil in currencies other than the dollar. Unfortunately those other currencies have the same problem as ours. They are backed up by nothing. In 200 years, adjusting for inflation, the value of gold has not changed up or down 1%. Because of this people say that gold is a bad investment. Of course, during this time the price of gold in dollars has gone up over a 100 fold. There has after all been inflation. Gold is not an investment. Gold is a guarantee that you will NOT lose your principle and you would not have if your money had been backed by gold and held for the next 200 years. What the heck else do you want out of something that should be backing up our currency? I know this is complicated and hard to understand, or to believe, but a lot of bright people in the Federal Reserve are making money off of their control of the currency because they get to spend the dollars they print first before inflation removes its value from the rest of us. It sure would be nice if we had an alternate currency that we could count on, before our middle class gets it in the neck like Mexico in the past, such that we may end up having to go to Mexico illegally to find jobs! Please do not say 10 years from now that you have not been warned by the most honest statesman from Texas, since Sam Houston and the Alamo. Ron Paul is that statesman. Think about it. Thanks again.
