My Granddad, who thought Margaret Thatcher was the best thing ever, always said before disagreeing with anything, try living with what you disagree with, especially if you don't have any actual experience of what it is you are disagreeing with. He also told me that your experience is not relevant, even if you have been through what you disagree with - you went through it how long ago? Times, money and costs change; so live it!
