I find it interesting, although hardly surprising, that this first breath of fresh air in the NYC school system comes not from an experienced lifer, but from someone who spent most of his (very successful) career in another profession (in Klein's case, he was a super-lawyer, at the very top of the heap). The system has been crying out for decades for someone who "thinks outside of the box," and Klein is no prisoner in the box. I actually think there's a chance he can pull this off. The combination of Bloomberg (also not a professional pol or pubic servant) and Klein is more than a breath of fresh air, actually -- it's a hurricane.
