Columbia Defends Professor In Noose Incident, After Delay

Submitted by reine.de.tout, Oct 25, 2007 09:28

"It was defamation of Professor Luthar's character, and it was the university's responsibility to support her from the beginning," a first-year student at the Teachers College, Ricco Wright, said yesterday.

Indeed. And so why didn't the university do so? Perhaps Professor Luthar isn't part of a "victim" group and thus they didn't feel she was deserving of support? I hope Professor Luthar looks for another job and finds one somewhere where her abilities and talents will be appreciated enough that she will receive the support she (or anyone) would deserve in this situation.
