Much To Learn About Mattingly the Manager

Very good critique of Donnie Baseball's qualifications, or perhaps lack thereof. What I haven't seen in the press is a revisit to the "Willie Bloomquist incident". When queried by the press as to why Donnie B. did not come out and voice his objections to the call when Willie was out by a foot plus, he meekly replied "what for, the umpire is not going to change his mind"......hardly a response one would expect. Fire and brimstone he is not, but there is a requisite sense of balance to let his players know the manager will champion their cause. A great player he was, but a mediocre manager, at best, he will be, if chosen.
