Knicks' Ill Decisions Lead To Waste

John,

I agree. The Knicks need shooting, Demetris provides that. Though he will not see a lot of time I think they should keep him he has nice upside. I can think of three or four other players they ought to cut first.

1) Jerome James - injured again, will likely miss the season. Let's not hold onto him in the hope he will turn into the player he was in the one playoff series a few years ago. Besides if we buy him out now, his salary only remains on the books for cap reasons for two years, not the full three years of his contract, thus saving about $6MM in penalties for being over the cap in year three of his contract.

2) Mardy Collins - he's ok, I do not see much upside to this guy

3) Nate Robinson - yes I know this is sacriledge, but consider that he is a two guard in a short one guards body. He is looking really good right now which is why he has trade value. He is not the second coming of Cal Murphy or Tiny Archibald.

4) Malik Rose - the Knicks need his locker room leadership, but he will not see much time.

5) Fred Jones - good athlete, but at 28, we are seeing the best this guy will ever be and he goes to the basket well, can't shoot to save his life.
