Anyone who thinks that Islam was founded peacefully, was spread peacefully, and remains Koranically peaceful, knows nothing about the history of the Mediterranean world. Mohammed announced--and backed up his announcement with action--that he was going to make war on the "infidels", i.e. non-Muslims. The result was the obliteration of many nations. All of north Africa, and Asia Minor (modern day Turkey) was peopled by those ethnically related to Europeans (primarily Greeks, Phoenicians, and Romans). They were either forcibly assimilated, or extinguished. They no longer exist. At least Mohammed was honest about his intensions. 20th & 21st century Muslims are anything but. The fact that most Europeans believe such statemenst as that quoted in this article--"As Muslims, we say to Christians that we are not against them and that Islam is not against them — so long as they do not wage war against Muslims on account of their religion, oppress them and drive them out of their homes."--is indeed a replay of history, as in the days leading up to both World Wars. History does in fact repeat itself, because humanity does not learn from it. Most people do not wish to be bothered by studying it, so they are destined to relive the horrors about which we make movies and video games.
