Mangini Gives Clemens a Vote of No Confidence

Submitted by OrlandoJet, Oct 25, 2007 20:27

I have had faith in Mangini since his hire, however faced with real adversity for the first time as a HC, his decision making and rationale for them is troubling. Mr. Smith is entirely accurate in his assessment of the QB situation. There is no justiiable reason to continue to start Pennington in a lost season...unless you believe Pennington is part of the solution to a winning future. If Mangini (after drafting Clemens in Round 2 last year) believes Pennington is his future at QB then that is really scary. This season is lost! When Vilma is declared lost for the season and most fans don't care, it tells you something. Most fans want to see if Harris is the answer at MLB; most fans want to see if Clemens is the answer at QB. As fans if we can't root for a winner in 07 (and we can't), we want to at least root for the chance of winning in 08 and beyond. Every game that Pennington continues to start robs the fans of that opportunity. It robs Clemens of time to develop. When you see how Belichick goes about his business as a HC, it sure separates him by a large margin from all othe HCs. In this business sometimes you have to be ruthless. So far this year Mangini has not shown those qualities.
