Edwards is a fake in most every sense of the word.

This latest posture is an attempt to get protective coloration and avoid alerting anyone caring about their human right to self-defense, which Edwards would throw away in a second if he thought it would get him toys to play with on a national scale (i.e., the Presidency).

The root of the 2nd Amendment is not guns, but that human right, so absent in countries who disarm people and then kill them. Germany, Russia, China...the list goes on and on and socialist liberals never admit the failure of their proscriptions. Part of this failure is calculation: armed citizens are much harder to control.

There is no security for citizens in handing the state a monopoly on guns.

On a good day, when seconds count, the police are just minutes away.

Look at the UK if you want to see the results of invasive gun controls. Terror and oppression don't have to come from government all the time. Armed criminals kill, rob, maim and terrorize unarmed citizens with great regularity. Any politician disarming you in the name of crime control is a liar, egomainiac or both.

It is also a certainty that worthies like Michael Bloomberg and Dianne Feinstein, if they are wrong about the promised crime declines from their policies, will not pay the price. They have millions of dollars of personal wealth to hire all the armed security they could want, in addition to what taxpayers provide for them. These elitist snobs will not be doing the bleeding.
