I enjoyed the article and will use it in my course on the Cold War. However, in a sense, I am a revisionist. I have documents which strongly suggest the Cold War began on November 5, 1943 when the "High Command," George Marshall's immediate staff, informed the Office of War Information in Los Angeles to direct all Hollywood studios to stop making atrocity movies. Why? Marshall and probably FDR realized that Germany and Japan would be defeated and we would then need new allies to help stop the spread of the Soviet Union/Communism. An analysis of the films from then to the end of the war shows an absence of bad Germans and bad Japanese. The film industry did not portray the Holocaust or bad Germans for many years after the war. I would be happy to discuss my thesis, for which I have all the relevant documents.
