I think you are making mistake who is friend of US, do you think oil in the north would be safer in the hands of the Kurds or the NATO member ,friend of US and Israel TURKEY.

I think you need to read and learn about something you do not know anything about,

US is getting ready to pull out and they need a secure and reliable friend to deliver the oil to Turkish poert of Ceyhan.
