Edwards's Bid for Favor Of Hunters Draws Fire

Submitted by Laura Slitt, Oct 30, 2007 09:09

I say, everything humans do to animals, they in turn, do to one another. Will Tuttle's book, The World Peace Diet, examines the stark correlations between what we do to animals, and the real time parallels seen in human social conditions.

It takes more of a man to refuse to be part of the herding and violent culture, than to cave to it. It takes FAR more strength and confidence, to stand up for the helpless and those incapable of even the slightest bit of self-protection, animals.

I find it cowardly that humans adorn themselves in camo clothing, carry high powered weapons, hide like stalkers(the same way rapists and other abusers do)and lay in wait for some helpless moose, deer, or bear to walk into their sites....It's taking life against its will. Long before man decided to create economic gain from turning wildlife "managment" into an industry, animals took care of themselves. Looking at the planet, it is OUR species causing global ecocide, and in large part, because of our speciesist, ruthless, cruel attitudes towards other creatures.

So....how are we doing as a society???? Highest prison population;addictions huge;rape huge;domestic violence huge;use of war to solve conflicts, always;bullying rampant in schools; disease rates skyrocketing;political system FAILING; Time to rethink our values maybe?
