How Peace Came to Baghdad's Haifa Street

Submitted by D. Smith, Nov 2, 2007 22:55

Our had the sector between Talill Square and the Green Zone, I can't recall who had that sector in 04-05. They were in constant hell. Command would generally have us on stand-by when things were extra harry for those guys. We would do thunder runs and ocassional cat and mouse games at the Old Chi House on the river and refer to it as Indian country. I just pray they can have some peace. A man came to me in the late night with two young daughters in his arms shortly after the first elections and it struck me that his children were very similar in age to mine. He thanked us all and said God willing and with your help these children can have a good life
