Three CUNY Students Finalists for Marshall Honor

Submitted by Prof. J. Michael Turner, Nov 5, 2007 19:17

I started teaching African and Latin American History at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. in September 1973. Since 1973, I have taught at the Fundacao Universidade de Brasilia, Brasilia Brazil, the Candido Mendes Universidade in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil and since 1987 at Hunter College-CUNY. Mr. Gregory Zucker is one of the most remarkable students it has been my privilege to work with, since commencing my teaching career. Mr. Zucker deserves The Marshall Fellowship for both his superior scholarship and his commitment to socieconomic developement as indicated in his newly assumed student-volunteering at UNICEF, the United Nations Children Fund. I and all his faculty members here at Hunter College-CUNY wish Mr. Zucker the best of luck with his graduate school plans and future career.
