Salander Case May Change the Art Market

Your article about the Salander bankruptcy allows two attorneys who are suing Mr. Salander to cross the line from abusing the qualified immunity of the courtroom to slandering Mr. Salander publicly. Their allegations about Mr. Salander's integrity and business practices, having now been repeated in the press, are no longer protected by that immunity and will now have to be backed up by facts, of which there are none. I hope your publication will give as much attention to the facts as they come out as it has given to the false and defamatory allegations that you seem so hell-bent on repeating without doing any of the work that real journalists should do to investigate them and try to confirm them. Relying on self-serving attorneys who themselves do not bother to investigate the facts but simply file lawsuits and hide behind the qualified immunity of the courtroom is a disgrace. It is easy to beat a man when he is down, but to do so is no badge of honor or strength. Shame on you and every other person who would think that an honorable man would turn into the man portrayed by headline-seeking lawyers overnight.
