The Irony of Deadly Diseases

Submitted by Sam Covington, MD, Nov 7, 2007 19:31

MRSA IS a concern and will become more so as strains become ever more resistant to new classes of broad spectrum antibiotics.(evolution in progress) It could end up being somewhat like it was before the antibiotic era for this one particular kind of infection. - A scary thought indeed !

However, all the charges of fear mongering and perpetuation of the "State of Fear" aside, the appearance and worldwide spread of H5N1 is truly different from anything that our generation has seen and to belittle the worldwide concern that it has caused shows a singular ignorance of the issues involved.

I would suggest more research before writing on these subjects again.
