HELLO!! Whether or not the aptitude test is too narrow or too broad is NOT THE ISSUE! The problem was defined in the first online page of this article: No one, parents or school officials, will take meaningful action to rein in, as in DISCIPLINE the adorable lillte monsters who are attending our schools. Of course, I will be seen as old-fashioned, if not plain "old," for being so callous and "mean-spirited" (the favourite ridiculing and condemning remark of liberals) as to suggest that misbehaving children and youth be punished in such a way as to make it more painful than not to cause trouble. With what in God's name do we think we are dealing? A mother lioness knows better than to coddle cubs which wander off where they do not belong, or engage in dangerous behaviour. She knows that is she does not severely discipline them they will die! That is exactly what is happening to our children and youth--they are DYING! And why? Because we are too nice, and too immersed in Dr. Spockism to properly discipline them. What is the alternative? Let them die. Go for it, if that is what is desired, but do not complain that they will not behave or learn. Kids used to learn quite well in poorly lit, poorly furnished, poorly supplied, one-room school houses, "black," "white," whatever you want to all human beings.
